New Drawings/ Readings Project
Recently I began a new drawing practice. I spent the whole Trump presidency cranking out political portraits, one or sometimes even two a week because we were trying to keep up with the news cycle at ArtProfiler; but now I’m working for a different website (my own) and am in the position of being able to pick and choose what I do.
Right now I’m rarely in the studio. I have a portrait sitting on the easel waiting to be painted (and another in planning stages that I’m itching to begin), but I’ve been so busy with written work -- chatty and mostly factual stories for the blog, and more literary stories that go out to quarterlies -- that I feel a little chained to the desk.
Which is why I started drawing every day. To get my rocks off.
Now I’m at the point where I’d like to offer this service to you.
The first three people who send me photos of themselves (or someone they cherish) will receive one of these little graphite portraits for free.
After that, as I expand my practice, I will have to start charging -- please see specifics at the bottom of this post.
Another thing. I pick up a lot of information about people when I draw or paint them -- what moves them forward, what holds them back, what their desires and goals are, even illnesses they may be harboring. Unless asked, I don’t usually tune into that sort of personal stuff, but I’m happy to do it, so if you’d like me to add a reading to a portrait of you let me know. Cheers.
The Details
