A Night of Villains & Heroes: Solo Exhibition

I’m having a party and I hope you’ll come!

For one night only (this Saturday, March 25) I’ll be exhibiting a collection of political oil portraits and drawings at Cloud Tree Studios & Gallery.

The reason?

To celebrate the release of my new coffee table book titled, “State of the Union.” It’s a collection of the political oil portraits I cranked out during Trump’s reign of terror. If you know me at all, then you know I have some opinions about everything that went down while he was in office, and I’ve included some of them in this book. Come get your autographed copy!

On view will be a collection of my infamous political oil portraits and drawings. Plus, we’ll have some light hors d'oeuvres & beverages on hand.

Be sure to RSVP on the Facebook event page so we can get an estimated headcount.

If we’ve never met, here’s a little about me:

I’m an author and fine arts painter specializing in portraiture. My work combines elements that are both classical and expressionistic, dwelling on the natural beauty of the face as well as the subject’s raw emotional energy and psychological patterns that come through as the canvas develops.

I’m best known for political portraiture, owing to my time at ArtProfiler, an online art and culture magazine I co-founded in 2014. After Trump’s election in 2016, I began — out of horror and rage — a series of paintings of Trump and his administration. The portraits were used as the basis for provocative memes, many of which went viral on social media, earning the ArtProfiler editorial staff furious commentary from right wing observers.

In early 2021, I began a new drawing practice. I have a sixth sense when it comes to faces; you could call me a “portrait psychic” because I pick up a lot of information about people when I draw or paint them. Whether in oil or graphite, certain things about the person bubble up—what moves them forward, what holds them back, what their desires and goals are, even illnesses they may be harboring. However, I don’t usually tune into that personal stuff unless asked.
